Since 2020, The Big Yellow Foundation has supported Street League’s work across the UK, donating over £120,000. Their funding has contributed to the running costs of our Academies, which cover venue hire, delivery staff salaries, kit and equipment, as well as participant travel.

Working collaboratively with community partners such as Street League, The Big Yellow Foundation is committed to supporting vulnerable young people in returning to employment. As a lack of work experience is one of the main barriers faced by our young people at Street League, Big Yellow stores across the UK offer paid 12-week work placements to enable our participants to gain valuable experience.

Freya, a participant who took part in a work placement, shared, ‘I am proud that I was able to pick up lots of new skills and learn the layout of the rooms quickly. I have struggled with my confidence, but the placement has helped me to build that up when talking to and assisting customers.’

Each quarter, Big Yellow employees are invited to visit a Street League Academy to take part in an employability workshop, join in a sports session, and share their career journey with our participants. The Big Yellow Foundation also supports Street League with valuable mock interview and CV workshops to upskill our young people and offers tours of the self-storage units to expose them to the world of work.
