From handwritten notes and running tips to training kit and energising snacks, their encouragement has kept me going through the tough winter training months! I also had the privilege of spending Newton Europe's annual Charity Day volunteering with Street League and hearing first-hand about the amazing work they do.”

“As an employee of Big Yellow I have grown to learn more and more about the charity during my time with the company and it is the charity I’m most passionate about supporting. I have always believed there isn’t enough support for the young and vulnerable members of our communities which is why I feel like the job Street league does is so important. I am very passionate about sport of all kinds and what skills and attributes that gives someone besides a physical aspect. Traits such as determination, discipline and teamwork are all so important in everyday life and life skills that need to be taught more to young people. I am very inspired by the work Street League does and would be very proud to represent them in any way.”

“Completing the TCS virtual marathon was hard but a fun experience, constantly running and being out of breath. I chose to fundraise for Street League because I would like to help the people that are unfortunately unsure of their next steps after school and hopefully this will help them in some way. I accomplished the marathon with the help of some friends who pushed me to my limits in completing the marathon. When completing the marathon, I felt relief and peace of mind knowing I help others.“

“Completing the TCS virtual marathon was fun and hard at times, but it was an experience I would do again any day. The feeling you get knowing you’re helping out even if it is small but getting fit at the same time is priceless. I chose to fundraise for Street League because I believe in the cause. It's interesting realising how fortunate you are when you actually open your eyes and me being young myself really made me want to help other young people who are not as fortunate. When completing the marathon, I felt a instant release of joy and happiness knowing I was done as well as I ran 26.2 miles for an amazing cause.“

“Finishing my London marathon challenge gave me a massive sense of achievement. I felt euphoric, emotional and pretty relieved! I chose to fundraise for Street League because I was lucky to have the upbringing I did and I know not everyone gets that. My friends, family, colleagues and customers were so generous and really got behind me.”

“My colleague and I wanted to challenge ourselves both physically and mentally and decided to take on the Virtual London Marathon 2021. Instead of the conventionally running the marathon, we challenged ourselves to walk the 26.2 miles from dusk to dawn. The team at Street League were very supportive and they walked the first three miles with us, cheering us on every step of the way. We would certainly do it again and encourage other to challenge themselves as well!”

“Completing one of the largest marathons across the world felt amazing – a real accomplishment and even better knowing I raised over £10k for Street League. I would genuinely recommend the Virtual Marathon to anyone. It’s a great way to complete a marathon in your own way and at your own pace. I’ve seen first-hand the vital work Street League deliver and have had the opportunity to meet some of the amazing young people benefiting from their programmes.”

“The work that Street League does supporting young people into work is an issue that I believe needs addressing – particularly knowing how much the post-pandemic world and the current cost-of-living crisis is having on young people across the country. It is clear to me the impact that sport can have on these young people, both as a means to engage and as tool for development. The day of the marathon was challenging but the feeling when I finished and the amount I raised for Street League made it all worth it.”
