Thank you #TeamStreetLeague 2021 London Marathon runners

The entire Street League team would like to say congratulations and thank you to our 2021 London Marathon runners, who undertook the incredible 26.2 mile challenge on Sunday, October 3rd.

#TeamStreetLeague was represented by six runners in total: three in-person and three virtual. There's no doubt that this is an incredible achievement for each and every runner, and all money raised will help support young people across the UK as we tackle another difficult challenge - the youth unemployment crisis.

In May 2021, 360,000 young people aged 16-24 were unemployed – enough to fill Wembley Stadium four times – with 109,000 of those being unemployed for over 12 months. The experience of being unemployed can leave lifelong scars that negatively affect future employment, wages and health, and significantly increase the likelihood of living in poverty long-term. This is particularly worrying for young people, who are more likely to experience unemployment during a recession and who have their whole working lives ahead of them.

There's still time to donate to support our runners at:

It's great to see mass participation athletic events back in action. As we come out of the pandemic, there's no better time to take on your own challenge for a good cause. Find out more here: https://www.streetleague.co.uk/support-us/fundraise/
