Street League takes part in the Big Give Christmas Campaign for the first time

One donation, twice the impact

As youth unemployment hits record highs, Street League is taking part in the Big Give Christmas Campaign for the first time. We would love for you to get involved and be a game changer!
We exist to help young people thrive. Our sports and employability academies are fun, safe environments for young people to develop their confidence and increase their ambitions. We are aiming to raise £4,000 from the Big Give Christmas Campaign. £4,000 will give 150 young people a second chance to gain vital qualifications. Youth unemployment is rising to its highest levels in decades due to this year's crisis. Young people who leave school with few or no qualifications struggle to find skilled work or move into further education. Many do not have the skills and experience needed to apply for jobs, and low confidence and motivation put them at risk of becoming unemployed long-term.

How does the Christmas Campaign Work?

The Big Give starts at midday on Tuesday 1st December and ends at midday on Tuesday 8th of December 2020, so we have just 7 days to raise our target of £4,000. The incredible part of this campaign is that during these 7 days all donations made will be matched, which means that your donation will be DOUBLED and so will the IMPACT for the young people we support.

Your donation will help young people like Nazir to gain their qualifications and move into work.

Dougie Stevenson, Street League’s Managing Director, says: ‘Our qualifications can be the first positive learning experience that our young people have. School doesn’t work for all and for many it’s the first accreditation they have received in their lives’.

With your support we can help more young people like Nazir. Donating to Street League during the Big Give will double your donation.

You can only donate when the campaign starts at midday on 1st December. If you would like a reminder on the day, please enter your email address here.

Going the extra mile:

If you are organising a fundraiser at work, at school or with your friends to get you all in the Christmas mood after a tough year, collect the funds before the 1st of December and donate them during the campaign to have even more funds doubled, and double your impact!

Be a game changer and donate to change young lives through sport.

It's the fundamentals you learn from there. You get taught how to speak to people and how to carry yourself. They teach you how to come across in interviews, and also other stuff that you need to know while you're working. You're not taught that in school. I think that's just a key part of it.
I want to work in something to do with auto electrician or mechanics and wanted to do an apprenticeship to help me learn. I needed my level two maths and English to get in, so passing my qualifications at Street League actually helped them notice me when I applied.
If someone was thinking about joining Street League I’d tell them just to go down, take a look. Because it's worth it. Once you actually join you realise it's really good for you.
